Library computers – Saturday 22 June

Due to essential maintenance work, computers, printers and scanners will be unavailable to use in Thurrock libraries on Saturday 22 June. We apologise for any inconvenience. Wi-fi will still be available, and you will still be able to borrow and return items as usual.

Children's Book Awards

Every year in June, young people in Thurrock 'shadow' the CILIP Carnegie and Kate Greenaway Book Awards - the UK's most prestigious award for children's books - through their libraries and schools.

There are 2 awards:

  • The CILIP Carnegie medal for the most outstanding book written for children and young people, published in the last year
  • The CILIP Kate Greenaway medal for the most outstanding book in terms of illustration for children and young people, published in the last year
