Upcoming changes to childcare support
From April 2024, help with childcare costs will be extended. Starting in April, eligible working parents and carers with 2 year-old children will be able to get 15 hours' free childcare.
From September 2024, the 15 hours of free childcare will be extended to eligible working parents and carers of children of ages from 9 months to 3 year-olds. By September 2025, most working families with children of ages from 9 months to 5 years-old will be entitled to 30 hours of childcare support.
