Trade unions

We recognise the importance of informing and consulting our staff and their representatives, and value a good working relationship with trade unions.

3 trade unions represent our staff:

Trade union facility time

Facility time is paid time-off during working hours for trade union representatives to carry out trade union duties. All public-sector organisations that employ more than 49 full-time employees must send details to the government about the use of facility time in their organisation.

The table below shows facility time and spending estimates for 2022/23. Estimates are based on the number of full-time equivalent days spent on union duties multiplied by the average salary of all staff.
