About temporary accommodation

Temporary accommodation is provided to households who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and who may be owed a housing duty by the council.

Temporary accommodation gives you somewhere safe to stay while your housing situation is assessed or while longer-term housing options are explored.

Types of accommodation

The type of accommodation offered will depend on:

  • the needs of your household
  • the accommodation available at the time

How we can help

Our aim is to:

  • provide safe and suitable temporary accommodation
  • support you while you are in housing need
  • help you move into settled accommodation as quickly as possible
  • help you live independently and maintain a future tenancy

Temporary accommodation is not intended to be a permanent housing solution. We will continue to work with you to identify longer-term accommodation options.
