Career advice available for young people

11 August 2023

Inspire Youth Hub Careers Advisers offer support and help for young people, allowing them to discover a world of exciting careers, training and apprenticeship opportunities following exam results in the next couple of weeks.

Cllr Adam Carter, Cabinet Member for Education, said: "I used the Inspire Youth Hub as a teenager so I know from personal experience just how good the Careers Advisers are, and how much help they can offer. Having visited again recently I was delighted to see that a new generation of young people have access to the fantastic help and advice that was so important to me.

"If you are aged between 16 and 25, our Career Advisers are on hand at the Inspire Youth Hub to provide free help and advice, especially to anyone who is not sure what to do next after getting their A-level or GCSE results. Alternatively you can make an appointment with one of our Careers Advisers to get one-to-one guidance to help you onto the first rung of your career ladder.

"With so many options and opportunities out there it can be overwhelming but our Careers Advisers are on hand to help you explore your passions, your skills and what you’re good at, and from there see what jobs, training or careers could suit you best – throughout Thurrock and beyond, and across many different sectors.

"There is no need to wrestle with uncertainty, our Careers Advisers are here to share their expertise with you and make sure that you get on the right path to make the most of the opportunities which are in front of you. It was certainly a huge help for me.”

The Thurrock Inspire Youth Hub is based at 24-28 Orsett Road in Grays.
