Over 200 residents in Thurrock attended a careers fair to learn about the growing opportunities in Construction, Green Skills, Transport & Logistics.
The free event took place on Friday 24 October at The Old Court House in Grays, and was hosted by Thurrock Council in partnership with Jobcentre Plus (DWP).
Residents in attendance had the chance to meet with a range of exciting employers and training providers, including:
- Basildon Skills Centre
- Bouygues Murphy
- DP World
- Gement
- Marlborough Highways
- Mears
- South Coast Port Services (SCPS)
- South Essex College
- STC Group
- Thurrock Adult Community College
- USP College
Cllr Vikki Hartstean, Cabinet Member for Children's Services, Education and Community Safety, said: “I am thrilled that so many of our residents from all ages and backgrounds came along to our Construction, Green Skills, Transport & Logistics Careers Fair. There are so many exciting employment and training opportunities here in our borough, and events like this help connect residents directly with organisations and reassure them that there are plenty of career pathways out there.
