Thurrock offers careers support for young people after results day

1 August 2025

Young people in Thurrock who are not sure of their next steps into employment or education after receiving their Entry level, GCSE, A level or BTEC results in August are invited to see a Careers Adviser to discuss their next steps.

Between 10am to 1pm on Tuesday 26 August, the Inspire Hub in Grays will have career advisors available to discuss the opportunities available after receiving your results.

Additionally, representatives from USP College, Central Training Group, The STC Group, South Essex College and TCHC Group will be available to discuss courses, apprenticeships or universities that can help people to progress towards their goals.

To book a place for the results day support, call 01375 413 735 or email thurrockcareers@thurrock.gov.uk

Anyone attending should bring their GCSE and A-level results, plus a form of identification so they can enrol onto courses.

Cllr Vikki Hartstean, Cabinet Member for Children’s Service, Education and Community Safety, said: “We know how daunting results day can be, and during this time there will be plenty of young people that might not be sure on their next steps. Thankfully, we have plenty of support available to help you get a clearer idea of some of the opportunities that are out there, whether it's looking for job and apprenticeship vacancies, enrolling onto courses or finding universities and colleges.

“Make sure to book your place at the Inspire Hub to have a chat with our team, and take a look at the Thurrock Opportunities website to see some of the wider support we offer all year round.”

Young people can also book to speak with a career advisor every Tuesday to Friday at the Inspire Hub to get support on finding their next steps after education.
