Thurrock Council has launched a new mobile bike check and repair service that will be visiting communities across the borough.
Starting from Saturday 5 July in Chafford Hundred, residents can visit a mobile hub service to get their bike checked and have minor repairs carried out for free.
The free bike check and repair hub will be travelling directly to communities across the borough with the aim to encourage cycling, promote sustainable travel, and ensure residents' bikes are safe and roadworthy.
The mobile hub will visit various library locations and community events throughout the coming months, offering essential services such as brake and gear adjustments, tyre inflation and puncture repairs, safety checks, and basic lubrication.
Cllr Victoria Holloway, Cabinet Member for Place and the Environment, said: "We are thrilled to make our popular bike check and repair service even more accessible to all of our residents in Thurrock.
"By bringing the hub directly into our communities, we hope to support more people in cycling confidently and safely, contributing to a healthier and greener Thurrock."

- Belhus Library RM15 5DX: Every 2nd Thursday (1:30pm to 3:30pm) including 10 July, 14 August, 11 September, 9 October.
- Grays Park RM17 6QZ: Every 2nd Friday (11:30am to 1:30pm) including 11 July, 8 August, 12 September, 10 October.
- East Tilbury Library RM18 8ST: Every 3rd Thursday (3pm to 4:30pm) including 17 July, 21 August, 18 September, 16 October.
- Tilbury Library RM18 8AD: Every 3rd Thursday (12:30pm to 2:30pm) including 17 July, 21 August, 18 September, 16 October.
- Chadwell Library RM16 4JP: Every 1st Thursday (2:30pm to 4:30pm) including 4 September, 2 October.
- Chafford Hundred, Drake Road Community Centre RM16 6BZ: 5 July (1pm to 5pm - 5:00 PM).
