Thurrock students celebrate GCSE success

22 August 2025

Students across Thurrock are celebrating after receiving their GCSE results, marking a major milestone in their education journey.

To celebrate the occasion, Cllr Vikki Hartstean, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, Education and Community Safety, visited Harris Academy in Chafford Hundred and Mossbourne Fobbing Academy in Standford-le-Hope to congratulate students and staff in person.

Cllr Hartstean said: “It was a real pleasure to visit Harris Academy and Mossbourne Fobbing Academy this morning and speak with students as they opened their results. Their hard work, determination and resilience over the past year is truly inspiring.

“Whether students are heading to college, starting an apprenticeship, or still exploring their options – today is a moment to be proud of.

“For those who may be feeling uncertain about their next steps, I encourage you to reach out to our Inspire Youth Hub. Their team of experienced careers advisors are here to help you find the path that’s right for you.”
