Help build future careers for students

Students at Thurrock College were given an insight into exciting careers in the building industry, thanks to a visit from construction and development company Auburn Group.

Auburn Group is currently delivering six new council homes at Lyndhurst Road in Stanford-Le-Hope on behalf of Thurrock Council.

The outreach to local students is part of its commitment to deliver social value alongside new affordable housing.

Members of the Auburn Group team attended the college's Freshers Fair, hosted by South Essex College of Further and Higher Education, to speak with students about the wide range of opportunities available within the construction sector.

The team showcased career pathways including project management, surveying, health and safety, and skilled trades, helping students gain a better understanding of the diverse professions that contribute to delivering new homes and infrastructure.

Cllr Richard Bingley, Leader of Thurrock Council, said: "Providing new affordable homes is vital, but it's equally important that developments deliver wider benefits for our communities. It's fantastic to see Auburn Group working with local students, helping them explore future career opportunities and inspiring the skilled workforce that Thurrock will need in the years ahead.”
