Residents from across Thurrock were at the Thameside Theatre on Friday 11 July to discover some of the exciting job and training opportunities in and around the borough.
The Early Years and Health & Social Care Jobs Fair, which was hosted by Thurrock Council in partnership with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), was a free event that gave Thurrock residents the chance to explore career pathways and opportunities in two vital job sectors:
- Health & Social Care
- Early Years & Child Care
A significant number of employers, both national and local, were present with stands at the event to speak directly with attendees about job vacancies and development opportunities across their ever-growing industries.
Cllr Vikki Hartstean, Cabinet Member for Children's Services, Education and Community Safety, said:
"The Early Years and Health & Social Care Jobs Fair was a fantastic opportunity to showcase some of the amazing job and training opportunities available here in Thurrock.
“I was so pleased that so many of our residents made the most of this free event, and hopefully many of them have been left with a better idea on some of the career pathways that are available to them.
"If you weren’t able to attend this jobs fair, we’re still able to offer plenty of support and career guidance. Make sure you’re subscribed to our weekly resident's newsletter to stay up to date with when our next career fair will be taking place, and take a visit to one of our Inspire Hubs who will be able to support you with everything from CV help to job interview preparation."
