Thurrock residents find out more and share their views on changes to local government.
On Wednesday 6 August, residents joined an online webinar to learn more about the changes that are happening to councils in Greater Essex. Hosted by Councillor Lynn Worrall, Leader of Thurrock Council, and council officers, the session gave residents the chance to ask questions, raise concerns, and share their views on the future shape of local government in Greater Essex.
The discussion was lively and thoughtful discussion, covering a wide range of important topics such as:
-
How visible and accessible the process will be.
-
Protecting community identity and local voice.
-
Job opportunities and economic growth.
-
Fairness in governance and representation.
-
And, how residents and businesses will be kept involved moving forward.
Cllr Lynn Worrall said: “A huge thank you to everyone who joined the webinar. Your ideas, feedback and questions really help us understand what matters most to you. We’re working hard to make sure your voices shape these changes, and that Thurrock is heard.
“We’re committed to keeping you informed and involved every step of the way. This is your council and your community, and your voice truly matters.
“I look forward to meeting more of you at the upcoming in-person public question time event, where we’ll have the chance to continue these vital conversations face to face.”
