Two much-loved green spaces in Thurrock are about to get a new lease of life, and local residents are being asked to help shape their future.
Corringham Town Park
First opened in time for the 2012 Olympics, Corringham Town Park has been a favourite spot for families, young people, and fitness enthusiasts. With its games area, climbing wall, and outdoor gym, it became a hub of activity for the community.
Sadly, the park has been closed since June 2024 because of safety concerns. Now, Thurrock Council is planning a full refurbishment with new equipment and features to bring the park back into safe use, but they want your ideas to make sure it’s better than ever.
Dilkes Park, South Ockendon
At the same time, exciting improvements are planned for Dilkes Park in South Ockendon. The aim is to create a vibrant, welcoming space that people of all ages can enjoy. Whether you’re a parent looking for safe play facilities, a dog walker who loves open space, or just someone who enjoys fresh air and community spirit, this is your chance to have a say.
Why your voice matters
Your feedback will directly influence the design and features of both parks. This is about making sure the spaces reflect what local people actually want and need, whether that’s new play areas, fitness zones, or simply safe and welcoming places to spend time.
It’s a fantastic opportunity to shape the future of two important community spaces and ensure they’re enjoyed for many years to come.
Take part before it’s too late
