Time to book your next great day out at Grangewaters

2 October 2025

Booking your favourite outdoor activity at Grangewaters just got easier.

Thurrock’s unique year-round outdoor activity and education centre has launched a new standalone website, transforming its booking process.

Now is the perfect time to go online and book your family day out over the October half term.

The easy-to-use site guides you through the fantastic range of activities and courses at the centre, including abseiling, archery, climbing, sailing, paddle boarding, kayaking and bushcraft.

If you have little ones under five you can book your next Wiggly Bugs session on Friday mornings, online.

You can also book private tuition in some activities, group days out and a range of sailing certification courses.

Covering more than 70 acres in South Ockendon, Grangewaters includes natural woodland, open grassland and two beautiful lakes as well as activity areas and accommodation.

It gives young people, adults and families the chance to experience all the fun and excitement of land and water activities, from flying through the air on a 200 metre zipline  to sailing around our beautiful lake.

All activities are run and overseen by fully qualified Instructors.

There is also accommodation on site for longer visits.

Councillor Vikki Hartstean, Cabinet Member for Children's Services, Education and Community Safety, said: “Grangewaters is one the gems of our borough and we want as many residents and families as possible to experience this exciting centre. The stand alone site will make it so much easier for people to book a date for their favourite family activity.”
