Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Temporary Prohibition or Restriction of Traffic

The Borough of Thurrock (AIP 19 Grays) (20mph Zone)

1) Notice is hereby given that Thurrock Borough Council, in exercise of the powers under sections 1, 2, 4, 84 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (hereinafter referred to as “the 1984 Act”) and all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act, hereby gives notice that they have made the above order on the 10th July 2025, the order will come in to force on the 28th July 2025.

2) The general effect of the Order would be to introduce a 20mph Zone at the location(s)/ roads specified below:-

      1. Advice Avenue, For its entire length
      2. Albemarle Close, For its entire length
      3. Andrea Avenue, For its entire length
      4. Antelope Avenue, For its entire length
      5. Archates Avenue, For its entire length
      6. Ark Avenue, For its entire length
      7. Armada Court, For its entire length
      8. Bradleigh Avenue, For its entire length
      9. College Avenue, For its entire length
      10. Cresthill Avenue, For its entire length
      11. Cromwell Road, For its entire length
      12. Dell Road, For its entire length
      13. Dexter Close, For its entire length
      14. Dukes Avenue, For its entire length
      15. Fairfax Road, For its entire length
      16. Grays End Close, For its entire length
      17. Hampden Road, For its entire length
      18. Hogg Lane, For its entire length (Excluding the A1012 section from Eastern Way to Devonshire Road)
      19. Hollis Place, For its entire length
      20. Ireton Place, For its entire length
      21. Langthorne Crescent, For its entire length
      22. Lenthall Avenue, For its entire length
      23. Lisle Place, For its entire length
      24. Lucas Road, For its entire length
      25. Ludlow Place, For its entire length
      26. Milton Road, For its entire length
      27. Orchard Drive, For its entire length
      28. Pym Place, For its entire length
      29. Rookwood Close, For its entire length

3) A copy of the Made Order together with the plans can be viewed on Thurrock Council’s website at thurrock.gov.uk/publicnotices. Alternatively they can be viewed by appointment during normal office hours (Monday-Friday, 9am-4pm), by contacting the Transport Delivery Team via troconsultations@thurrock.gov.uk. 4) Any person wishing to object to the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the 1984 Act, or that any requirements of the Act has not been complied with, may, within 6 weeks from the date of on which the order is made apply for the purpose to the High Court.
