Public notice

1. Notice is hereby given that Thurrock Borough Council, in exercise of the powers under sections 1, 2, 4 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (hereinafter referred to as “the 1984 Act”) and all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act, hereby gives notice that they have made the above order on the 6^th August 2026, the order will come in to force on the 15th September 2026.

    

2. The general effect of the Order would be to introduce “No Waiting At Any Time” restrictions at the following locations:

1. On both sides of Chestnut Avenue, from a point 10m south of the southern kerb line of Long Lane to the northern flank wall of property no 136 Long Lane.

   1. On both sides of Chestnut Avenue, from a point 2m north of the northern kerb line of Lodge Lane, for a distance of 15m, in a northerly direction. 

      1. On both sides of The Close, from the eastern kerb line of Connaught Avenue, for a distance of 14m in an easterly direction.

      2. On the eastern side of Connaught Avenue, from the northern kerb line of The Close to the common boundary of properties no 84 and 86 Connaught Avenue.

      3. On the eastern side of Connaught Avenue, from the southern kerb line of The Close, to the common boundary of properties no 78 and 76 Connaught Avenue. 

      4. On both sides of Gloucester Avenue, from the eastern kerb line of Victoria Avenue, for a distance of 14m, in an easterly direction.

      5. On the eastern side of Victoria Avenue, from the northern kerb line of Gloucester Avenue, in a northerly direction to a point 4m south of the common boundary of properties no 88 and 90 Victoria Avenue. 

      6. On the eastern side of Victoria Avenue, from the southern kerb line of Gloucester Avenue, in a southerly direction to the southern flank wall of property no 82 Victoria Avenue.

      7. On both sides of Victoria Avenue, from a point 8m north of the northern kerb line of Lodge Lane, in a northerly direction to the southern flank wall of property no 78 Lodge Lane.

      8. On both sides of Morelands Avenue, from the western kerb line of Marlborough Close, for a distance of 12m in a westerly direction. 

      9. On the western side of Marlborough Close, from the northern kerb line of Morelands Avenue, following the kerb line in a northerly direction, to the common boundary of properties no 1 and 2 Marlborough Close.

      10. On the western side of Marlborough Close, from the southern kerb line of Morelands Avenue, following the kerb line in a southerly direction, to a point 4m north of the common boundary of properties no 61 and 62 Marlborough Close.

3. Any person wishing to object to the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the 1984 Act, or that any requirements of the Act has not been complied with, may, within 6 weeks from the date of on which the order is made apply for the purpose to the High Court.
