Please note: The schedule of works is laid out in the document attached. 

1)The Borough Council of Thurrock, in exercise of their powers under Section 14(1) of the Road
Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other powers, intends to make an Order the effect of which
is to: -
 

• Prohibit any vehicle from travelling along Brooke Road from its junction with Orsett
  Road for a distance of approx 40m in a northerly direction.
   
• Prohibit any vehicle from parking At Any Time on the south side kerb line and
  western side kerb line of Brooke Road for its entire length.
   
• Temporarily suspend the eastbound travel only on Brooke Road.
   
• Temporarily suspend the northbound travel only on Quarry Hill.
   
• Prohibit any vehicle from parking At Any Time along the western kerb line of
  Quarry Hill from a point approx 53m north of its junction with Orsett Road to its
  junction with Brooke Road.
   
• Prohibit any vehicle from travelling along Cromwell Road from its junction with
  Orsett Road for a distance of approx. 33m in a northerly direction.
   
• Prohibit any vehicle from parking along both kerb lines of Cromwell Road from its
  junction with Orsett Road for a distance of approx 33m in a northerly direction.
   
• Prohibit any vehicle from parking along the southern kerb line of Orsett Road from
  a point approx 23m east of its junction with Derby Road for a distance of approx
  58m in an easterly direction.
   

2) The purpose of the Order is to enable Thurrock Council to carry out highway improvement
works.

3) The alternative route is as per Schedule One to the Order. Access will be maintained for
residents and businesses at all times.

4) The Order will come into force on the 28th September 2026 at 08:00hrs and will remain in
force as per Schedule One to the Order with Brooke Road and Cromwell Road being carried
out at different times. Works are currently scheduled to take place daily between the
hours 08:00 and 17:00 with traffic management being in place 24/7. Exact dates however will
always be specified on https://one.network/?tm=GB152387781 It only applies to those
days and times when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in
accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

5) It is expected that the works will be completed within the above times, however the Order will
continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works have been
completed, whichever is the sooner

6) If the works are not completed within 18 months, the Order may be extended for a longer
period with the approval of the Secretary of State.
