Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Temporary Prohibition or Restriction of Traffic

Daiglen Drive, Darenth Lane, Cander Way and Broxburn Drive - South Ockendon

1) The Borough Council of Thurrock, in exercise of their powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other powers, intends to make an Order the effect
of which is to:

- Prohibit any vehicle from travelling along Daiglen Drive between its junctions with Delaware Road and Danbury Crescent.
- Prohibit any vhicle from travelling along Darenth Lane between its junctions with Daiglen Drive and Derry Avenue.
- Prohibit any vehicle from Parking At Any Time along both kerb lines of Daiglen Drive between its junctions with Delaware Road and Danbury Crescent.
- Prohibit any vehicle from Parking At Any Time along both kerb lines of Darenth Lane between its junctions with Daiglen Drive and Derry Avenue.
- Prohibit any vehicle parking along both kerb lines of Cander Way from its junction with Broxburn drive for a distance of approx. 30m in a southerly direction.
- To prohibit any vehicle parking along both kerb lines of Broxburn Drive from its junction with Cander Way for a distance of approx. 25m in an easterly direction. 

2) The purpose of the Order is to enable Thurrock Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing.

3) The alternative route for soutbound vehicles on Daiglen Drive is Daiglen Drive northbound, Arisdale Avenue, West Road, North Road, Ockendon Road, Clay Tye Road, St Marys Lane, Warley Street, slip to A127 eastbound, Southend Arterial Road (A127), eastbound slip From A127 To A128, Halfway House Roundabout, Brentwood Road (A128), Tilbury Road (A128), Bulphan Bypass (A128), Brentwood Road (A128), Orsett Cock Interchange, Entry On Slip Orsett Cock Interchange to A13 westbound, A13, exit off slip A13 To Wennington Interchange, London Road roundabout, New Road, Sandy Lane, Romford Road Roundabout, Lance Corporal Nicky Mason Way, Stifford Road and Daiglen Drive and vice versa for northbound vehicles.

The alternative route for Darenth Lane to egress onto Daiglen Drive will be Foyle Drive either northbound or southbound depending on direction of travel on Daiglen Drive. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses at all times.

4) The Order will come into force on the 26th November 2025 at 19:00hrs. Works are currently scheduled to take place over one night between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00. Exact dates however will always be specified on https://one.network/? tm=GB146560028 It only applies to those days and times when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

5) It is expected that the works will be completed within the above times, however the Order will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner

6) If the works are not completed within 18 months, the Order may be extended for a longer period with the approval of the Secretary of State.
