Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Temporary Prohibition or Restriction of Traffic

Gun Hill, Turnpike Lane, Blue Anchor Lane, The Green - West Tilbury

The Borough Council of Thurrock, in exercise of their powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other powers, intends to make an Order the effect of which is to: -

- Prohibit any vehicle from travelling along Turnpike Lane and Gun Hill in accordance with Schedule One to the Order.
- Prohibit any vehicles from turning right or left into Turnpike Lane and Gun Hill in accordance with Schedule One to the Order.
- Prohibit any vehicles from turning right or left into Blue Anchor Lane in accordance with Schedule One to the Order,
- Prohibit any vehicles from turning right or left into The Green in accordance with Schedule One to the Order.
- Temporarily revoke the 7.5tn weight restriction on Station Road.

2) The purpose of the Order is to enable National Highways to create a safe diversion for closures taking place on the A1089 for crossover works to be completed.

3) The alternative routes will be signposted on site and implementing a one way system utilising Blue Anchor Lane and Turnpike Lane and are shown in Schedule One to the Order. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses via the one way system / diversions.

4) The Order will come into force on the 13th October 2025 at 19:30hrs. Works are currently scheduled to take place nightly between 13th October 2025 and 22nd November 2025, weekdays only, between the hours of 19:30 and 06:00. Exact dates however will always be specified on https://one.network/?tm=GB145749917. It only applies to those days and times when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance
with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

5) It is expected that the works will be completed within the above times, however the Order will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner

6) If the works are not completed within 18 months, the Order may be extended for a longer period with the approval of the Secretary of State.
