Hogg Lane and London Road - Grays

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Temporary Prohibition or Restriction of Traffic

1)The Borough Council of Thurrock, in exercise of their powers under Section 14(1) of the
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other powers, intends to make an Order the effect
of which is to: -
 

- Prohibit any vehicle from travelling along Hogg Lane between its junctions with Hogg Lane roundabout and London Road.
 

-Prohibit any vehicle from travelling along London Road from its junction with Hogg Lane for a distance of approx 115m in an easterly direction.
 

-Temporarily revoke the double yellow lines on the southern kerb line of London Road from its junction with Hogg Lane for a distance of approx 115m in an easterly direction.


2) The purpose of the Order is to enable Cadent Gas to carry out gas main replacement works.
 

3) The alternative route for westbound vehicles is London Road eastbound, Orsett Road,
Palmers Avenue, Southend Road, Lodge Lane, Treacle Mine roundabout, Elizabeth Road,
Devonshire Road roundabout, Hogg Lane and Hogg Lane Roundabout, and vice versa for
eastbound vehicles. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses at all times.
 

4) In addition to the above, parking will be prohibited in the layby's along the northern kerb
line of London Road. In this Order the Laybys are referred to as:
approx 25m east of its junction with Hogg Lane for a distance of approx 58m in an
easterly direction.
approx 88m east of its junction with Hogg Lane for a distance of approx 20m in an
easterly direction.
 

5) The Order will come into force on the 22nd June 2026 at 07:00hrs and remain in force
continuously until 20th July 2026 at 17:00hrs. Exact dates however will always be
specified on https://one.network/?tm=GB150410419 It only applies to those days and
times when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance
with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
 

6) It is expected that the works will be completed within the above times, however the Order
will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works have been
completed, whichever is the sooner
 

7) If the works are not completed within 18 months, the Order may be extended for a longer
period with the approval of the Secretary of State.
