Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Temporary Prohibition or Restriction of Traffic

Lampits Hill – Active Travel Scheme (20mph Zone)

1) Notice is hereby given that Thurrock Borough Council, in exercise of the powers under sections 1, 2, 4, 84 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (hereinafter referred to as “the 1984 Act”) and all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act, hereby gives notice that they have made the above order on the 5th February 2026, the order will come in to force on the 23rd February 2026.

2) The general effect of the Order would be to introduce a 20mph Zone at the location(s)/ roads specified below:-

      1. Edith Way, for its entire length
      2. Elmstead Close, for its entire length
      3. Fernside Close, for its entire length
      4. Glenfield Road, for its entire length
      5. Kenwood Road, for its entire length
      6. Kersbrooke Way, for its entire length
      7. Lampits Lane, for its entire length
      8. Oakwood Road, for its entire length
      9. Wheatley Road, for its entire length
      10. Woodbrooke Way, from Lampits Hill to Kenwood Road
      11. Woolifers Avenue, for its entire length

3) A copy of the Made Order together with the plans can be viewed on Thurrock Council’s website at thurrock.gov.uk/publicnotices. Alternatively they can be viewed by appointment during normal office hours (Monday-Friday, 9am-4pm), by contacting the Transport Delivery Team via troconsultations@thurrock.gov.uk. 4) Any person wishing to object to the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the 1984 Act, or that any requirements of the Act has not been complied with, may, within 6 weeks from the date of on which the order is made apply for the purpose to the High Court.
