Temporary Prohibition or Restriction of Traffic
Lampits Hill and Church Road - Corringham
1) The Borough Council of Thurrock, in exercise of their powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other powers, intends to make an Order the effect of which is to:
- Prohibit any vehicle from travelling along Lampits Hill between its junctions with Lampits Lane and Giffords Cross Road. Prohibit any vehicle from travelling along Church Road between its junctions with Giffords Cross Road and Rookery Hill.
- Prohibit any vehicle from parking at Any TIme during the times of the Order along both kerb lines of Lampits Hill between its most southern junction with Lampits Lane and Giffords Cross Road.
- Prohibit any vehicle from parking At Any Time during the times of the Order along both kerb lines of Church Road between its junctions with Giffords Road and Rookery Hill.
2) The purpose of the Order is to enable Thurrock Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing.
3) The alternative route for northbound vehicles is Rookery Hill, The Manorway eastbound, Corringham Road A1014 Roundabout, London Gateway Drive, Corringham Road, The Manorway westbound, Manorway Interchange, Entry On Slip Stanford Interchange To A13 Eastbound, A13 eastbound, exit off slip A13 Eastbound To Five Bells Roundabout, Five Bells Interchange, Five Bells Link Road, Five Bells Roundabout South, Five Bells Road, Link Road From B1420 And Bells Corner Roundabout To Boundary, Bells Corner Roundabout, Southend Road, and Lampits Hill and vice versa for southbound vehicles. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses at all times. The alternative route for westbound vehicles on Fobbing Road will be Fobbing Road eastbound, Lion Hill, High Road, Five Bells Roundabout south, Southend Road and Lampits Hill and vice versa eastbound vehicles.
4) The Order will come into force on the 5th August 2025 at 08:00hrs. Works are currently scheduled to take place daily between 5th August 2025 and 8th August 2025 between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00. Exact dates however will always be specified on https://one.network/?tm=144312838 It only applies to those days and times when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
5) It is expected that the works will be completed within the above times, however the Order will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner 6) If the works are not completed within 18 months, the Order may be extended for a longer period with the approval of the Secretary of State.
