Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
Temporary Prohibition or Restriction of Traffic
Muckingford Road, West Tilbury
1) The Borough Council of Thurrock, in exercise of their powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other powers, has made an Order the effect of which is to:
- Prohibit any vehicle from travelling along Muckingford Road between its junctions with Blue Anchor Lane and Beechcroft Avenue.
2) The purpose of the Order is to enable collaboration between Thurrock Council and contractors on behalf of the Lower Thames Crossing to carry out surveys, trial holes and vegetation clearance works.
3) The alternative route for eastbound vehicles is Linford Road, Chadwell Hill, St Chads Road Roundabout, St Chads Road, Marshfoot Road, Gateway Academy Roundabout, Marshfoot Road, Marshfoot Road Roundabout, A1089 northbound, A13 eastbound, exit off slip to Orsett Cock Interchange, Orsett Cock Interchange, Stanford Road, Buckingham Hill Road, and East Tilbury Road and vice versa for westbound vehicles. Access will be maintained forresidents and businesses at all times.
4) The Order will come into force on the 25th February 2026 at 20:00hrs. Works are currently scheduled to take place nightly between 25th February 2026 and 27th February 2026 between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00. Exact dates however will always be specified on https://one.network/?tm=GB147714699 It only applies to those days and times when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
5) It is expected that the works will be completed within the above times, however the Order will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner
6) If the works are not completed within 18 months, the Order may be extended for a longerperiod with the approval of the Secretary of State.
