SECTION 123(2A)

NOTICE OF PROPOSED DISPOSAL OF PUBLIC OPEN SPACE - LAND TO THE NORTH OF LONDON ROAD, PURFLEET.

Notice is hereby given in accordance with Section 123(2A) of the Local Government Act 1972 that Thurrock Council (“the Council”) intends to dispose of an area of public open space being Land to the north of London Road, Purfleet.

The area proposed to be sold comprises approximately 1.24 acres of land (western parcel 0.69 acres and eastern parcel 0.55 acres).

It is intended that the site be disposed of on a freehold basis.

Copies of a plan showing the approximate position of the affected land may be inspected free of charge during normal office hours, Monday to Friday, at the Civic Offices, New Road, Grays, RM17 6SL and can also be viewed on the Council website at www.thurrock.gov.uk. 

By virtue of Section 123(2A) of the local Government Act 1972 the Council is required to give formal notice of its intention to dispose of public open space and consider any objections to the proposed disposal. 

Any objection or representations regarding the proposed disposal should be made in writing and addressed to Project Director, Asset Disposals, Thurrock Council, Civic Offices, New Road, Grays, RM17 6SL no later than 12 noon on 11^th June 2026. The grounds for any objection should be stated.
