Oliver Close, Oliver Road and Burnley Close - West Thurrock

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Temporary Prohibition or Restriction of Traffic

The Borough Council of Thurrock, in exercise of their powers under Section 14(1) of the
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other powers, intends to make an Order the effect
of which is to: -
 

- Prohibit any vehicle from travelling along Oliver Close between its junctions with
roundabouts at St Clements Road and Oliver Road.
 

- Prohibit any vehicle from travelling along Oliver Road and Burnley Road in their
entirety.
 

- Prohibit any vehicle from parking At Any Time during the times of the Order along
both kerb lines of Oliver Road and Burnley Road.
 

2) The purpose of the Order is to enable Thurrock Council to carryout carriageway resurfacing.
 

3) The alternative route for eastbound vehicles on Oliver Close will be St Clements Way,
London Road, Stonehouse Corner Roundabout, Stonehouse Lane, Arterial Road Roundabout
(Junction 31), Link Road From A1306 To A13 Northbound, Mardyke Interchange (Junction
30), A13 eastbound, exit slip to Lakeside Interchange, A126 southbound, Lancaster
roundabout, West Thurrock Way, Stoneness Roundabout, Stoneness Road, Oliver Road and
vice versa for westbound vehicles.
There is no alternative route for Oliver Road and Burnley Road, however access will be
maintained for businesses at all times.
 

4) The Order will come into force on the 13th July 2026 at 19:00hrs. Works are currently
scheduled to take place nightly from the 13th July 2026 with Oliver Road being for the first
3 nights and then Oliver Close and Burnley Road being for the next two nights. All works
are scheduled to take place between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00. Exact dates however
will always be specified on https://one.network/?tm=GB150929104 It only applies to
those days and times when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs
in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
 

5) It is expected that the works will be completed within the above times, however the Order
will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works have been
completed, whichever is the sooner
 

6) If the works are not completed within 18 months, the Order may be extended for a longer
period with the approval of the Secretary of State.
