Section 90, Provision of temporary speed cushions

PROVISION OF SPEED CUSHIONS ON VALMAR AVENUE, RAYLEIGH ROAD & PROSPECT AVENUE, STANFORD-LE-HOPE – ACTIVE TRAVEL

1) The Borough Council of Thurrock gives notice that under Section 90(A-F) of the Highways Act 1980 and all other enabling powers, it is considering a proposal to install Speed Cushions on Valmar Avenue, Rayleigh Avenue & Prospect Avenue, Stanford-le-Hope at the following locations:- 

a)    At the shared boundary 22 / 24 Valmar Avenue 
    
b)    At approximately 1.5 m east form the shared boundary 42 / 44 Valmar Avenue

c)    At the shared boundary of 7 /9 Rayleigh Road

d)    At 14 m west on Rayleigh Road from its junction with Ruskin Road

e)    Outside 40 Rayleigh Road and outside of 15c / 15 b Rayleigh Road (Staggered cushions) 

f)    At the shared boundary of 17 / 19 Prospect Avenue 

g)    At the shared boundary of 30 / 32 Prospect Avenue 

h)    At the shared boundary of 57 / 59 Prospect Avenue 

i)    At the shared boundary of 73 / 75 Prospect Avenue

j)    At approximately 10.5 m west on Prospect Avenue from its junction with Runnymede Road

2) The speed cushions would be installed in 9 sets of 2 and 1 set of 2 staggered. The cushions would have a maximum width of 1.7 metres, and length of 3 metres long and have a maximum height of 75 millimetres. 

3) A copy of the Proposed Order together with the plans can be viewed on Thurrock Council’s website at thurrock.gov.uk/publicnotices. Alternatively the proposals can be viewed by appointment during normal office hours (Monday-Friday, 9am-4pm) by contacting the Transport Delivery Team via transportdelivery@thurrock.gov.uk.  Those who are unable to use email can phone 01375 652652

4) Any person wishing to comment on the proposals should do so in writing and sent to the following address Civic Offices, New Road, Grays, RM17 6SL or sent via email to transportdelivery@thurrock.gov.uk by no later than 18th September 2025
