Public notice

The Borough Council of Thurrock is satisfied that it is necessary to restrict or prohibit traffic
in the above road without delay because of the likelihood of danger to the public or serious
damage to the road.
 

2) The Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation
Act 1984 and all other enabling powers, has therefore made the following Notice:
 

Prohibit any vehicles from travelling along Southend Road between it junctions
with Five Bells roundabout and One Tree Hill roundabout.
 

3) The purpose of the Notice is to enable Thurrock Council to carry out urgent repairs to the
carriageway.
 

4) The alternative route for westbound vehicles will be on slip to A13 westbound, exit slip to
Manorway Interchange, The Manorway, The Manorway Southend Road Link Eastbound,
Dunstable Road roundabout, and Southend Road and for eastbound vehicles will be
Southend Road westbound, The Manorway Southend Road Link Westbound, The
Manorway, Manorway Interchange, A13 eastbound, and Five Bells Interchange. Access will
be maintained for residents.
 

5) The Notice comes into force Friday 25th September at 08:00hts and will be valid for 5
days. It is however expected that the works will be completed during th one day by
17:00hrs. It will apply only on those days and during those times when indicated on site by
the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs
Regulations and General Directions 2016.
