Stanford-le-Hope - 20mph Zone
Temporary Prohibition or Restriction of Traffic
Notice is hereby given that Thurrock Borough Council, in exercise of the powers under sections 1, 2, 4, 84 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (hereinafter referred to as “the 1984 Act”) and all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act, hereby gives notice that they have made the above order on the 21st May 2026, the order will come in to force on the 18th June 2026.
The general effect of the Order would be to introduce a 20mph zone at the location(s)/ roads specified below: -
Butts Lane, from the roundabout with London Road to the roundabout with St. Andrews Way
Oxford Road, for its entire length
Valmar Avenue, for its entire length
Old Jenkins Close, for its entire length
Romsey Close, for its entire length
Rayleigh Road, for its entire length
Ruskin Road, for its entire length
Prospect Avenue, for its entire length
Brockenhurst Drive, for its entire length
Lulworth Close, for its entire length
Runnymede Road, for its entire length
Wilson Close, for its entire length
Chantry Crescent, from northern boundary wall of 16 Chantry Crescent to its junction with Rectory Road
Fairway Avenue, from its junction with Rectory Road to its junction with Fairview Chase
Rectory Road, for its entire length
The Hollies, for its entire length
Hadfield Road, for its entire length
Warren Close, for its entire length
Copland Road, for its entire length
Walkers Square, for its entire length
Billet Lane, for its entire length
Kynoch Court, for its entire length
Rainbow Lane, from its junction with Corringham Road to its junction with Billet Lane

Any person wishing to object to the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the 1984 Act, or that any requirements of the Act has not been complied with, may, within 6 weeks from the date of on which the order is made apply for the purpose to the High Court.
