Station Road, East Tilbury
Temporary Prohibition or Restriction of Traffic
1.The Borough Council of Thurrock is satisfied that it is necessary to restrict or prohibit traffic
in the above road without delay because of the likelihood of danger to the public or serious
damage to the road.
2. The Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation
Act 1984 and all other enabling powers, has therefore made the following Notice:
- Prohibit any vehicles from travelling along Station Road from its junction with Love Lane for a distance of approx 760m in a westerly direction.
- Temporarily revoke the 7.5tn weight restriction on Church Road and The Green.
- Temporarily revoke the 8tn weight restriction on Blue Anchor Lane.
3. The purpose of the Notice is to enable contractors on behalf of the Lower Thames Crossing
to carry out urgent de vegetation works for Traffic Management safety and visibility.
4. The alternative route for westbound vehicles will be Love Lane, Station Road, Princess
Margaret Road, Muckingford Road, Blue Anchor Lane, The Green, and Church Road and
vice versa for eastbound vehicles. Access will be maintained for residents.
5. The Notice comes into force immediately 19th June 2026 and will be valid for 5 days. It is
however expected that the works will be completed by 15:00hrs on 19th June 2026. It will
apply only on those days and during those times when indicated on site by the presence of
the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General
Directions 2016.
