1)The Borough Council of Thurrock, in exercise of their powers under Section 14(1) of the
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other powers, has made an Order the effect of
which is to: -
 

Prohibit any vehicle from travelling southbound along Turnpike Lane.
 

Prohibit any vehicle from travelling southbound on Gun Hill.
 

Prohibit any vehicle from travelling northbound on Blue Anchor Lane.
 

Prohibit any vehicles from turning right or left into Turnpike Lane from Linford
Road.
 

Prohibit any vehicle from turning left into Gun Hill from Rectory Road.
 

Prohibit any vehicles from turning left into Blue Anchor Lane from The Green.
Temporarily revoke the 7.5tn weight restriction on Station Road.
 

Prohibit any vehicle from travelling along Thurrock Park Way.
 

2) The purpose of the Order is to enable National Highways to create a safe diversion for
closures taking place on the A1089 for crossover works to be completed.
 

3) The alternative routes will be signposted on site and implementing a one way system
utilising Blue Anchor Lane and Turnpike Lane. Access will be maintained for residents and
businesses via the one way system / diversions.
 

4) The Order will come into force on the 7th September 2026 at 20:00hrs. Works are currently
scheduled to take place nightly between 7th Setpember 2026 and 22nd September
2026 between the hours of 20:00 and 04:00. Exact dates however will always be specified
o n https://one.network/?tmi=GB47146052. It only applies to those days and times
when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with
The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
 

5) It is expected that the works will be completed within the above times, however the Order
will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works have been
completed, whichever is the sooner
 

6) If the works are not completed within 18 months, the Order may be extended for a longer
period with the approval of the Secretary of State.
