Allotments in Thurrock
There are allotment sites in most areas of Thurrock.
Allotment sites provide the perfect opportunity to grow your own fruit, vegetables or flowers. Keeping an allotment is also a great way to keep active and meet people in your local community.
Self-managed allotments
The Thurrock Allotment Steering Group (TASG) represents all self-managed allotments in Thurrock.
Individual sites have their own committee, which manage the plot letting and waiting lists for the site.
We attend TASG meetings to provide support, advice and guidance to individual associations. We can provide contact details for individual self-managed allotment associations on request.
Council-managed allotments
We manage 2 allotment sites in Thurrock, at:
- Fobbing Road, Corringham
- Giffords Cross, Stanford-le-Hope
Full and half-size plots are offered on both sites are let at the following rates for the year:
- full plots (10 rods) – £144
- half-size plots (5 rods) – £77
- reduction for senior citizens and people with disabilities – 15%
