Items due for return between 1 January and 31 July have had their loan dates extended automatically – to 1 September for libraries that reopened in July, and to 2 November for other libraries. The public entrance for the library is temporarily on Cromwell Road.
The library was first opened in 1903 in a building built with money from the Carnegie Foundation.
There are public toilets on the ground floor of the library. There is 1 toilet with access for disabled people, using a RADAR key.
