Virtual sessions launched to support young people

A range of free virtual sessions are now available for young people in Thurrock aged 11 to 17. Inspire Youth Hub in Grays is running various activities, quizzes and games, timetabled throughout the week, that focus on educating and entertaining in equal measure and can be enjoyed from the safety of your own home.
As well as this, careers advice continues to be provided over the phone for young people in years 11 and 13 to support next steps in education, employment or training as well as supporting with individual careers interviews.

Next Top Boss partnerships announced

A launch event held on Wednesday 2 October announced the local business and school partnerships for the 2019/20 Thurrock's Next Top Boss programme.
Thurrock's Next Top Boss – now in its tenth year – is run by Thurrock Council's Inspire Youth Hub and gives young people the chance of working with local employers on real business challenges. The businesses will set a challenge for the students to solve and will work closely with the teams to develop their ideas from October 2019 through to February 2020, ahead of their business responses being submitted and judged in the new year.

Gateway Academy pupils crowned Next Top Boss winners

A team of pupils from The Gateway Academy have been named winners of this year's Thurrock's Next Top Boss competition.
The contest, which tasks students with working with local employers on real business challenges, concluded with an awards evening at South Essex College's Thurrock Campus on Thursday 28 March.
Thurrock's Next Top Boss is an annual competition run by Thurrock Council's Inspire Youth Hub, with students from nine of the borough's school and colleges taking part this year, as well as a team from Thurrock Youth Cabinet.
