Free school meals for vulnerable children to continue throughout Easter

Thurrock Council is set to use additional government funding to prioritise free school meals for the borough's most vulnerable children this Easter.
Cllr Andrew Jefferies, Cabinet member for education, said; "Over two weeks last December and throughout the February half term this year, we supported vulnerable children across the borough with free school meals. Looking ahead, I am pleased to announce that we are once again prioritising this funding for these children throughout the Easter break this April.

Eligible children to get free school meals during February half term

All children eligible for free school meals in Thurrock schools will once again be supported throughout the upcoming February half term with each receiving a weekly £15 supermarket voucher.
Cllr Andrew Jefferies, Cabinet member for education, said; "For two weeks in December last year, the council supported thousands of eligible children across the borough with free school meals, and I am proud to say that we are once again delivering on this promise during February half term this year.

Eligible children to receive free school meals over Christmas holidays

All children eligible for free school meals in Thurrock schools will receive a weekly £15 voucher for each of the two weeks over the Christmas holidays.
Cllr Andrew Jefferies, Cabinet member for education, said; "I'm so pleased that we are able to work with local schools to issue vouchers to all 6,200 children eligible for free schools meals and make sure they do not go hungry during the school holidays.
