Over 91% of Thurrock primary pupils offered their first preference school

More than nine in ten children in Thurrock applying for a primary school place this year have been offered their first‑preference school for September. 
Of the 2,183 applications received from Thurrock residents, 2,000 children (91.62%) have been offered a place at their first‑choice primary school. Over 98% of applicants have been offered a place at one of their top three preferences. 
A total of 123 children (5.63%) were offered their second‑preference school, while 32 children (1.47%) were offered their third preference.

Almost all children in Thurrock will be starting their educational journey at one of their top-preference primary schools this September.
From a total of 2,221 applications, 91.63% have been offered their first preference of primary school. Over 98% of children have been offered a place at one of their top three preferences.

Nearly all primary pupils to attend one of their top choice schools

The vast majority of children across Thurrock will start their school journey in September 2024 at one of their parent or guardians top 3 primary school choices.
From 2,350 applications, over 97% of children will have been offered one their top 3 places. 89% of applicants this year have been offered their first choice of primary school.

Primary school places announced for September 2023

Figures released today, Monday 17 April, show that the vast majority of children across Thurrock will receive one of their top 3 primary school choices for the September 2023 academic year.
From 2,311 applications, over 98% of children will have been offered one their top 3 places. 92% of applicants this year have been offered their first choice of primary school, an increase from 88% first choices offered in 2022.
