7 July 2021
A report presented to Cabinet yesterday (Wednesday 7 July) unveiled the proposed implementation of Highways Street Lighting Central Management System (CMS), which is set to save the council an estimated £125,000 every year.
Cllr Ben Maney, Cabinet member for highways and transportation, said: "I would like to reassure residents that we are keeping the street lights on, not turning them off as other councils have.
"The installation of the Central Management System will allow us to dynamically control approximately 21,000 street lights from one web-based system.
