Civic Awards 2020 winners announced

The winners of the 2020 Thurrock Civic Awards were announced at a special ceremony on Friday 28 February, hosted by Orsett-born former Paralympic European and World Champion, Danny Crates.
Taking place at the Civic Hall, Grays, the ceremony brought together finalists from the 8 award categories to announce the winners and celebrate their time and effort put into the local community, making a positive contribution to the borough.

39 finalists, from more than 140 nominations made across 8 award categories, have been shortlisted and revealed for the Thurrock Civic Awards 2020.
Cllr Deb Huelin, Cabinet member for communities, said: "The Civic Awards are a wonderful way to recognise the borough's stars who go above and beyond to help our communities. The awards acknowledge those who have made a special contribution to our borough with categories including: creative, healthy living, environmental, sports and young achiever.

Vote for your community stars in the Thurrock Civic Awards 2020

The public vote is now open for residents to help choose the finalists in this year’s Thurrock Civic Awards.
Local residents, community groups and businesses, who were each nominated for one of the eight Civic Award categories, can now be voted for online anonymously. The public vote can be accessed until midday on Wednesday 15 January 2020, by going to the council's Civic Awards web pages.
