Thurrock Coronavirus Community Action continues to support residents

From Saturday 1 August, the government paused shielding and instead is advising that vulnerable residents should follow strict social distancing measures. Food parcels provided by the government, as well as the requirement for local authorities to fill any gaps, will stop.

Whilst some lockdown restrictions are easing, Thurrock Coronavirus Community Action (TCCA) continues to offer help and support to vulnerable residents in the borough.
Leader of the Council, Cllr Rob Gledhill, said: "Whilst we recognise that some lockdown restrictions are starting to lift, there are still residents who are being contacted by the NHS in regards to shielding. I urge those who have recently received a text or letter from the NHS to say they are in the shielding category, to please sign up for support as soon as possible if they need it.

Thurrock Coronavirus Community Action supports most vulnerable

Thurrock Coronavirus Community Action (TCCA) has spoken to 636 of our most vulnerable residents during the first 5 days of the community response launching last Wednesday (1 April). In addition, over 350 residents have come forward to volunteer to give their time helping those who are most vulnerable keep safe and well and to stay at home.

Thurrock Coronavirus Community Action helpline launched

At 9am today (Wednesday 1 April), Thurrock Coronavirus Community Action (TCCA) – a partnership led by Thurrock Council working with Stronger Together and Thurrock CVS – will be launching a helpline and online form to support residents who:
are vulnerable due to self-isolation
have worsening mental or physical health issues
do not have friends, family or local support in place at this time
This helpline is for Thurrock residents who need help as a priority and are without help in the community.
