There has been a lot of rumour and speculation about Langdon Hills over the last week or so and we wanted to set out the facts so everyone is clear:
- Thurrock Council is not selling off or building on any part of Langdon Hills Country Park
- There is a potential development site identified in the Langdon Hills area in the Local Plan. We are currently consulting on the draft Local Plan, and if it were to be approved, any developments would still be subject to planning permission. But the plan does not include any of the country park. In fact Langdon Hills Country Park is recognised as an area of important biodiversity and is protected as open space within policy.
