£200k funding approved for environmental causes

26 October 2017
A cross-party panel set up to review applications for communities to improve their environment has approved 10 proposals totalling over £200,000.
The Community Environmental Development Fund (CEDF) was set up in February 2016. Thurrock groups applied for funding to be used on projects that will improve the local environment or increase safety in communities.
Each applicant had to raise at least 10% match funding, and set out how their project would result in an improved environment or asset for their community.
