Secretary of State hears about exciting Thurrock regeneration plans

Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, Robert Jenrick MP, visited Grays last Thursday (10 October) to hear more about exciting plans which will transform and revitalise the town centre.
During a walkabout the secretary of state saw exactly where improvements will be made to Grays High Street praising the breadth of ambition displayed by Thurrock Council.

Thurrock Council receives government high street funding

Grays has been named as one of 50 additional towns which have been successful in the first round of bids for the government’s Future High Street Fund.
It means that Thurrock Council will receive funding to develop a detailed business plan to bid for a share of £1billion government funding, which can be used to invest in new infrastructure to revitalise Grays High Street, attracting businesses, shoppers and homes to the town.

Leaseholders hear exciting plans for Grays Town Centre

Leader of Thurrock Council, Cllr Rob Gledhill, has met with leaseholders operating businesses near the Civic Offices to talk to them about exciting plans for Grays Town Centre and the opportunities it will create for them.

Thurrock Council welcomes progress at old State Cinema site

Plans to develop the site of the old State Cinema on George Street are taking a step forward this month, with remedial works on the building due to begin later in April.
Thurrock Council welcomes this progress towards the development of a modern bar by JD Wetherspoons in the heart of Grays, which will create an estimated 60 new jobs.
The development will form a key element to the improvement and regeneration of Grays Town Centre.
