Appeal for dash cam footage after truck spills concrete on A13

Thurrock Council is appealing for help identifying a truck that spilt concrete onto the A13.
The driver failed to stop after concrete fell from a yellow and grey tipper truck onto the inside lane of the Southend-bound carriageway on the approach to the exit for the Orsett Cock roundabout at about 3:10pm on Thursday 11 July.
The council's highways contractor attended and briefly closed the slip road to remove debris from the road.

Lodge Lane parking regulations

Lodge Lane has a Traffic Regulation Order in place, predating decriminalisation in 2005, which prohibits parking at any time on the highway from garden to garden – this includes crossovers, verges and footways. The council wrote to residents without reference to a letter dated 8 July 2005, as due to retention policies the letter is not held on file.

Road works planned for Bridge Road, Grays

1 March 2018
Bridge Road, Grays will be temporarily closed while work takes place to allow for the installation of traffic lights at the width restriction.
The road will be closed between 9:30am and 3:30pm from Monday 5 March until Saturday 31 March.
For vehicles travelling northbound, a diversion will be in place via Bridge Road, Argent Street, B189 Sherfield Road, Derby Road, A126 Orsett Road, Stanley Road, Clarence Road and A126 Bridge Road
The diversion for southbound vehicles will be via Clarence Road, B189 Sherfield Road, Argent Street, Bridge Road.

A1089 work continues to disappoint

During the latter part of last week, Highways England – through their contractor, Connect Plus – has been undertaking some grounds maintenance along the A1089 in Tilbury.
As a result of cutting back the hedgerows three metres away from the highway, litter and trimmings have been shredded with 'tonnes' of rubbish left to blow across Thurrock and its roads.

Stolen gully covers are dangerous to public

In the last three days, thieves have stolen 16 gully covers from Thurrock’s roads creating, dangerous conditions for pedestrians, cyclists and road users.
Portfolio Holder for highways, Cllr Brian Little said: “On or around the 7 February five covers were stolen along with nine more being taken two days later and two more today (Friday 9 February).
“This reckless behaviour is putting the safety of road-users at risk and is completely unacceptable.”
16 known covers have been stolen although more could have been taken which are yet to be discovered.

London Road road works update

29 August 2017
London Road low pressure gas works finished last week (Friday 25 August) – seven days earlier than anticipated – after hitting unforeseen issues accessing pipework.
Although stopping before the school summer holidays are over, which is welcomed, it leaves a stretch of road towards the West Thurrock Way roundabout incomplete and due to be reprogrammed for 2018.
