Community college shortlisted for national award

Thurrock Adult Community College (TACC) has been shortlisted for a national adult learning provider award for the second year in a row.
The college, based in Grays, has been highlighted for the Times Educational Supplement Further Education (TesFE) 2018 Adult and Community Learner Provider Award, held in association with the Education and Training Foundation. The awards celebrate excellent and innovative practice across the further education sector and are now in their seventh year.

Thurrock Adult Community College achieves Good rating from Ofsted

Thurrock Adult Community College is celebrating after receiving a positive report from Ofsted inspectors.
The Community College based in Richmond Road, Grays, has received a 'Good' rating following an inspection in June. Inspectors were impressed with the range of activities and courses available.
The college were also praised for their development of close partnerships with social support agencies and with employers to provide purposeful pre-employment training to help people get into work.

Celebration of Learning at TACC

4 July 2017
As part of the national Festival of Learning, Thurrock Council's Thurrock Adult Community College (TACC) hosted a Celebration of Learning where College Principal, Jaki Bradley, welcomed learners to share their achievements and experiences with their peers, friends and family.
Individual learner awards were presented by friend of the college and advocate of adult learning in Thurrock, the Cabinet Member for Health and Education at Thurrock Council, Cllr James Halden.

TACC hosts Active Citizens Together event

Over a hundred learners from Thurrock Adult Community College were invited to join together for an Active Citizens Together (ACT) event last Tuesday (16 May).
Students from the English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) course came along to a practical session about how to become more active in the community along with skills around how to access services they might need, particularly around emergency services and advice on how to keep themselves and their families safe.

Family arts and crafts after-school

10 April 2017
Relax after school finishes and enjoy working with your family to create imaginative crafty projects together, at your local Adult Community College in Grays.
Activities are provided by Thurrock Council’s Family Learning team and are recommended for families with children aged 5 to 12 years.
The course is great value, with six sessions on offer for just £5 per family – one adult and two children – including resources.
Be quick to enrol – course starts Wednesday 26 April, 4pm to 5:30pm and bookings must close a week before on the 19 April.
