Traffic Regulation Order (TRO)

Temporary prohibition or restriction on roads

East Thurrock Road, Grays

of danger to the public or serious damage to the road.

2) The Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers, has therefore made the following Notice:

  • prohibit any vehicle from travelling along East Thurrock Road between its junctions with Bridge Road and Whitehall Lane
  • prohibit any vehicle from parking along the north kerb line from a point approximately 13m east of Salisbury Road to a point approximately 44m travelling east
  • prohibit any vehicle parking along the north kerb line from a point approximately 17m east of the junction with Kent Road to a point approximately 45m travelling east
  • prohibit any vehicle parking along the south kerb line from a point approximately 29m east of the junction with John Street to a point approximately 118m travelling east

3) The purpose of the Order is to enable Thurrock Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing. 

4) The alternative route for eastbound vehicles is Bridge Road, Orsett Road eastbound, Palmers Avenue, Southend Road, Lodge Lane, Daneholes Roundabout, Wood View, Old Dock Approach Road, Marshfoot Road Roundabout, Dock Road and Broadway, and vice versa for westbound vehicles. 
Access will be maintained for residents and businesses. 

5) The Notice will be in force for a maximum of 5 days. It will come into force on Wednesday 4 October 2023 at 8am and will be in force for one day until 5pm. It only applies to those days and times when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
