What does our Building Safety Team do?

The role of the Bulding Safety Team is to make sure you are safe and feel safe in your homes:

  • once a month we carry out checks of all our high-rise residential buildings. We check key safety features such as fire doors, escape routes, emergency lighting and escape signage. If anything is not working or damaged, we arrange for it to be fixed 

  • we are carrying out building safety audits to help us establish if our buildings have any defects or safety risks 

  • we created a Building Safety Policy to ensure we achieve our legislative requirements under the Building Safety Act 

  • we hold joint training exercise with the Essex Fire Brigade to test our emergency arrangements 

  • we reach out to residents who want to train to be ‘Building Safety Champions’ 

  • we are working on specific resident engagement plans for each building 

  • we hold ‘Meet your Building Safety Manager’ sessions
