Business continuity and emergency plans

Major incidents at industrial sites

The Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) Regulations make sure businesses take all necessary measures to prevent major accidents involving dangerous substances. They also make sure businesses limit the consequences to people and the environment of any major accidents that do occur.

The COMAH regulations apply to businesses that manufacture, store or use dangerous substances in amounts that exceed certain thresholds. Go to Health and Safety Executive (HSE): Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) Regulations.
