Request: 

I write to submit a request under the Freedom of Information Act for the following information regarding adoptions arranged by the council, or by any companies or agencies working on behalf of or in partnership with the council.

In the most recent annual recording period for which data is available:

the total number of children adopted by couples of the opposite sex, subcategorized by the sex of the child adopted;

the total number of children adopted by same-sex male couples, subcategorized by the sex of the child adopted;

the total number of children adopted by same-sex female couples, subcategorized by the sex of the child adopted.

For example, the data that I am requesting might look as follows:

I have only completed this for Thurrock children (14 adopted last year). We had our own adopters also adopt non-Thurrock children not included in this data.

Please be advised that the ICO will not consider your case until they have confirmation that you have already been through the Internal Review stage with the council.
