Asylum Seeker hotels

Request: 

Please can you provide a list of all safeguarding incidents in hotels for asylum seekers within your locality from April 1st 2020 to date? These services are commissioned by the Home Office but safeguarding incidents are made known to the local authority.

Please provide a breakdown of the incidents by:

a) type of incident (e.g. sexual assault on a child, suicide of asylum seeker)

b) the gender of the victim/ person affected

c) the month and year

d) the outcome (i.e. s47 investigation or any criminal investigation known to the local authority)

e) the name of the provider where known

Please provide figures for all local authorities you represent - if you represent multiple local authorities.

Response: 

There are no such hotels in Thurrock so it’s a nil return on all points.
