Request: 

•         What is the length of your asphalt paved roads? Could you give an estimate of the annual budget for resurfacing/maintaining them?

•         How often is the road and related asset condition assessed? When was the last time a report on the road surface quality was conducted?

•         Do you use a Pavement Management System (PMS), and/or other tools to make planning and coordination easy?

•         Do you have a full and comprehensive inventory of all the road assets (road signs, light poles, etc.) that the municipality owns such as location, condition, etc?

•         How many insurance cases were reported about car and bicycle damages/accidents last year due to the road condition?

•         How many reports or requests to fix road infrastructure damages did you receive from citizens concerning your roads last year?

Response: 

• What is the length of your asphalt paved roads? Could you give an estimate of the annual budget for resurfacing/maintaining them? Asphalt paved (not concrete or block-paved roads) approx. 370Km. Capital allocation for 2023/24 £2.6 million approximately.

• How often is the road and related asset condition assessed? When was the last time a report on the road surface quality was conducted? Full carriageway network assessed over 2-year period, Footway network is assessed over 3 years. National indicator reporting on surface quality is submitted annually to DfT. 

• Do you use a Pavement Management System (PMS), and/or other tools to make planning and coordination easy? Yes.

• Do you have a full and comprehensive inventory of all the road assets (road signs, light poles, etc.) that the municipality owns such as location, condition, etc? A comprehensive inventory – key primary assets contain detailed condition data

• How many insurance cases were reported about car and bicycle damages/accidents last year due to the road condition? As of today the number of insurance claims received for the period from 01/01/2023 to 31/12/2023 for car and bicycle damages/accidents due to the road condition is 27.

• How many reports or requests to fix road infrastructure damages did you receive from citizens concerning your roads last year? Total enquiries relating to *Road Infrastructure* for 2023 calendar year is 3563 (*Road infrastructure* is understood to include all physical assets within the road reserve, including not only the road itself, but all associated furniture (signage, markings etc), and all earthworks, drainage, structures (culverts, bridges, buildings etc)
