Request: 

1. Copies of any current local authority policies and procedures specifically relating to 16 and 17 year-olds who present to the local authority as homeless and/or estranged from their parents.

2. Copies of any materials produced by the local authority specifically for 16 and 17 year-olds who present to the local authority as homeless and/or estranged from their parents. (Please note, we are seeking only those materials which are currently in use).

3. Copies of any current local authority policies and procedures specifically relating to the use of semi-independent or independent accommodation (‘supported accommodation’) for looked after children aged 16 and 17.

There are no specific materials. Individual advice is provided to young people via their social worker and/or housing officer

3. Copies of any current local authority policies and procedures specifically relating to the use of semi-independent or independent accommodation (‘supported accommodation’) for looked after children aged 16 and 17.

Thurrock makes use of semi-independent accommodation where appropriate for 16 and 17 year olds who are looked after. This is supported by a commissioning framework.

Please be advised that the ICO will not consider your case until they have confirmation that you have already been through the Internal Review stage with the council.
